AirStart powers through to maintain Best Managed Gold Standard status amid challenging headwinds

The aviation innovator keeps its spot for a sixth year thanks to its culture of adaptability in a COVID-19 economy.

TORONTO, MAY 5, 2021: AirStart Incorporated (“AirStart”) landed on Deloitte Canada’s Best Managed Companies list for the sixth straight year, achieving a Gold Standard status for the third time.

As Rob Wills, AirStart’s CEO and founder, says, the achievement feels more important than ever given the extraordinary difficulties the aviation industry faced with COVID-19 – and the equally extraordinary ways that the AirStart team stepped up:

“The pandemic hit the aviation industry especially hard, but our past success has been built from ingenuity and adaptability. When COVID-19 hit, we tapped into our entrepreneurial spirit so we could adapt our business to continue serving our clients and partners in an ever-changing environment. I’m incredibly proud of what our team has accomplished.”

While COVID-19 had an undeniable impact on the business, particularly at the outset of the pandemic, 2020 proved to be a very strong year for the company. Bolstered by their forward-thinking commitment to growth, AirStart immediately pivoted, expanding capabilities, formalizing new supplier partnerships, and deepening client relationships.

“We have a commitment to our partners, and that’s what drives us even in difficult times,” says Anne Vinet, Executive Vice-President, Marketing and Business Development. “We all had to find new ways to serve our clients during lockdowns. Not just our company, but across the whole industry. It was the strength of our commitment to our clients and to our employees that truly inspired our innovation during this crisis. At the end of the day, those relationships are why we do what we do.”
