AirStart soars higher to achieve Best Managed Gold Standard status

Aviation innovator strikes gold for the seventh year.

TORONTO, MAY 10, 2022
AirStart Incorporated (“AirStart”) has landed on Deloitte Canada’s Best Managed Companies list for the seventh straight year, as a Gold Standard winner.

Given the extraordinary difficulties the aviation industry has faced over the last two years, the achievement “feels monumental,” in the words of CEO and founder Rob Wills — and is reflective of the equally extraordinary ways that the AirStart team has stepped up:

“After two years, the aviation industry is only beginning to recover from COVID-19. But the AirStart team has always been built on ingenuity and adaptability, and we have demonstrated our commitment to going the extra mile to serve our clients and partners during these uncertain times. Instead of slowing down, we found ways to expand our services, create stronger relationships, and help keep our clients in flight. I’m incredibly proud of what our team has accomplished.”

While COVID-19 has had an undeniable impact on business, the past two years have also provided many opportunities for innovators, as demonstrated by AirStart’s record growth. Investments in infrastructure, resources and assets have allowed the company to support an even wider selection of aircraft by Boeing, Embraer, Bombardier and De Havilland.

The company’s asset exchange and leasing program has also been seeded with high-value assets that enable AirStart’s clients to decrease their CASM (cost per available seat mile) and increase their dispatch reliability rate. It’s an investment that will pay big dividends as the aviation industry begins its long post-pandemic recovery.

Many of those dividends come in the form of stronger relationships, which is something the AirStart team has always prioritized. “Our relationships with our clients, our partners and our employees, along with our commitment to innovation, are what drive us every day,” says Anne Vinet, Executive Vice-President, Marketing and Business Development. “The pandemic helped us discover new ways to better serve our customers and our team has become even more efficient as a result.”
